Telemetry - SCADA

Telemetry is an automated communication system, which allows remote measurement and sending of information to the system operator, to control and optimize the processes of companies.  To visualize the data obtained by telemetry in an operational control center, a SCADA system is used, which is a type of data collection application to present them in an orderly manner on a control screen, to obtain a desired purpose.

What does GB Technology offer regarding the product?

We offer an integrated telemetry / SCADA system, for the control, automation, and optimization of the processes of a company, through the implementation of the different equipment that make up a telemetry system such as PLCs and communication radios, antennas, sensors, accessories, and necessary wiring, which help the acquisition and sending of data. Through all these equipment, the correct measurement of the different magnitudes of a system can be made, together with an SCADA system, which is elaborated by means of the “ignition software” and the adequate and timely handling of the information obtained by the telemetry system is carried out.

We are certified members in water and process management, with certified engineers with extensive experience in the management of software and systems and, we are able to provide you with advisory services, commissioning, training and personalized technical support. We have extensive experience in the field of different water management systems, ranging from pumping systems, purification systems and wastewater treatment plants.

Advantages of the Telemetry/SCADA service

  • Telemetry can automate processes in industries and utilities (water and electricity), as many of the processes could be performed remotely without requiring personnel to be moved to the project site.
  • Through SCADA systems, a greater optimization of the processes can be achieved since many of the variables and processes can be controlled remotely, without the need for the presence of an operator, such as: turning machines on and off.

WHY SHOULD COMPANIES HAVE A TELEMETRY/SCADA SYSTEM?

  • Greater control and automation of processes.
  • Remote access of control and information regardless of location.
  • Establish control centers to manage groups of similar equipment (line reclosers in electrical companies and water pumps, in water companies)

Why should companies hire a telemetry/SCADA system?

Telemetry and SCADA systems are of vital importance for companies that require greater control and optimization of their processes, since with these systems you can achieve the manipulation of processes remotely, obtain information, solve errors, and largely avoid work accidents. In this way, a greater optimization of resources can be achieved since only a control center will be required to operate and control all the processes that cover a company regardless of their location.

What is telemetry/SCADA

Telemetry is an automated wired and/or wireless communication system, which allows the remote measurement of physical quantities and the subsequent sending of information to the system operator. This telemetry equipment consists of sensors that measure certain or chemical, which transform this information into analog or digital signals.

To control and optimize the data obtained by telemetry in an operational control center, the SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system is used, this type of system is not a specific technology but rather it is a type of software that is used for presentation and control of variables.

Function and objectives of Telemetry/SCADA products

The basic functions for which a telemetry/SACDA system should be implemented are:

  • Remote monitoring of facilities and equipment, which allows the operator to know the performance status of the facilities and equipment housed in the plant, to facilitate and direct maintenance tasks and fault statistics.
  • Remote control of facilities and equipment, to be able to activate or deactivate the equipment remotely and, such as opening valves, activating switches, starting engines, all automatically. In addition to this, it is also possible to adjust parameters, reference values and control algorithms.
  • Data processing, all the acquired data make up the information that feeds the telemetry / SCADA system, therefore all this information is processed, analyzed, and compared with previous data, and with data from other reference points, to result in reliable and truthful information.
  • Dynamic graphic visualization, the system can provide images in real time, so that they represent the behavior of the current process, giving the operator the necessary information without having to be present inside the plant. These graphs can also correspond to curves of the signals analyzed over time.
  • Representation of alarm signals, through these systems alarm can be generated to alert the operator against a failure or abnormal operating condition. These signals can be both visual and audible.
